Wise One

Philosopher, Lover of Life, Wise One

What I would give

To see the world through your eyes

To picture the haze of freedom

Where there reigns injustice and chains

To capture the shadow of dignity

Where there thunders cries of hunger and pain

To carry the veil of hope

Where there lurks despair and death

To paint a watercolour rainbow

Where there is but sorrow and starvation

Teach me to find meaning

Where there dwells only desperation

Teach me to see with your eyes

I started writing poetry as a teenager and the passion for it flourished since retiring. I also dabble in photography, watercolour and acrylics. I created what I call Flash Memory Therapy. I am an active member of Haiku Canada and PoetrySoup.com. My poetry is down-to-earth and meant to be understood as opposed to impress with hifalutin words.
