Linz, Upper Austria state capital, is the third-largest city in Austria. The town is situated north of Austria about 19 miles south of the Czech border on the two sides of Danube River. The city's population is approximately 204,846. In the year 2009, Linz and Vilnius (which is the capital of Lithuanian) were chosen as the Capitals of European Culture.
