About Apache Trail
Apache Trail is an incredible circle route going through the Superstition Mountains just outside of Phoenix, Arizona. Used initially as a migration route by Indians, the Apache Trail became a stagecoach route and now is one of the most stunning and dramatic drives in the United States. The trail curves through steep mountain terrains surrounded by cacti and bushes. Much of the Apache trail is now paved, but the segment of the train between Roosevelt dam and Tortilla Flat remains unpaved. The Apache Trail meets U.S. Route 60 at the famous town of Apache Junction.
