Looking for an adventurous swim? Look no further than Praia da Areia Branca, home to big waves and gorgeous beaches. Whether you're a first-time body-boarder or an experienced surfer, the waves at this beach are sure to live up to your lofty expectations. The beach is located just south of the small horn at Peniche, and is surrounded by nearby restaurants and hotels for those wanting to enjoy surf and sun.

For those who are just starting out on their water adventures, the local beach shops provide surfboard rentals. Praia da Areia Branca has a surfing school as well. The beach also received the Blue Flag award in 2010 for overall cleanliness of both the beach and the water. There is also a small river that flows along the beach, for the less adventurous folk that just wish to cool off.

Overall, the beach itself is gorgeous, with blue waters and mostly sunny skies. When surfing there are sure to be like-minded people, and there's always room for adventure.
