About the Photographer
Retired pro, but a lifelong amateur at heart. Also a diver with decades of experience, and still addicted to underwater photography. I never go to water without a camera, to be able to record the beauties of the submerged Nature. Which, as you well know, covers the largest part of the Earth.
I will enjoy what our wonderful Earth offers to our eyes and mind for as long as I can.
A joint endeavor of NASA, the European Space Agency, or ESA, and the Italian Space Agency, Cassini launched in 1997 along with ESAs Huygens probe. The spacecraft contributed to studies of Jupiter for six months in 2000 before reaching its destination, Saturn, in 2004 and starting a string of flybys of Saturns moons. That same year it released the Huygens probe on Saturns moon Titan to conduct a study of the moons atmosphere and surface composition. In its second extended mission, which went through 2017, Cassini made the first observations of a complete seasonal period for Saturn and its moons.

On September 15, 2017, Cassini was ordered to swerve from its orbit and burn up in Saturns atmosphere. But Id like to think that the Pefect Probe had managed to land safely, and in spite of all science, now lives well in its new World. It surely deserves it! Photo by:
