Lazy Rapids |

Photographed long ago with the smallest camera I ever had (Sony DSC T7), the Sava river rapids in Zageb appeared smoothed down and lazy. This artificial weir has been built to keep the water level optimal for thermo-electric plant intake. In building this, people used crushed remains of torn-down buildings, and many reinforcing iron rods are still sticking out into the flow, waiting for swimmers and kayaks. Because this place contains so many hidden dangers it is strictly off-limits for any and all human activity. A pity, really. Could have been built to be both sport-friendly and safe...
