His lovely bride was no cook, tried she might
He labored on construction till the night
He worked up a heck of an appetite
Rushing on home, must have missed every light
Kicked off his boots as he held her so tight
Leisurely asked what’s for dinner tonight
He looked at her two hotdogs, what a sight
One’s for you, one’s for me, is that alright
Eyes so bright and smiling with much delight
The young newlyweds dined by candlelight
Gingerly nibbled to enjoy each bite
So she recalled their very special night
As she glanced far beyond in the moonlight
Fond memory, now young widow’s hindsight
