For over thirty years, I have been a creative force in the writing industry. My journey began as a child who used writing to combat the daily struggle of school bullying verses living in a household with a drug addicted father and a non-supportive mother. My writing- then and now- is my primary voice and healing mechanism.
While I do write short fiction, poetry has been my primary writing genre. My writing style has varied and evolved. In recent years, I have delved in creating modern poetry works. Although, being that Emily Dickinson is my poetry idol, I have a deep appreciation of the Romantic and the Victorian Era style of writing. Yet, I'm not afraid to explore sexually themed topics, and push the envelop. Some of my writings and published work falls into the erotic, taboo zone. I also like to institute metaphors and rhyme.
I possess an acclectic personality. Inside lies a person who is vulnerable, struggles with self-esteem, and follow my heart not my head. On the outside, I am not afraid to speak my truth, thrive on confrontation, and have a sarcastic sense of humor. All of which attributes to the writer I am today.
My work is published in various anthologies(Dusting Off Dreams, Echoes of Silence, etc.), as well as online(Bareback Magazine, Haiku Journal, etc.). In 2004, I released my first in print book of poetry(Scattered Images: A Woman's Poetic Tales). Since that time, I have published five e-books on Amazon and two editorials(The Catholic Spirit), conducted writing seminars for children at various New Jersey Libraries, and spoken at Meet the Author events.
